Solution: Spotify is not currently available in your country

This article is about the solution of Spotify is not currently available in your country problem. You might have encountered this message either because you are traveling abroad and Spotify streaming is not available in that country or you are trying Spotify for the first time and it is not available in your country at that time.

However, you choose to use the information in this article is up to you. You are responsible for your actions and nobody else. Okay then let us start the tutorial.

How Spotify detects your current country

Basically what happens is Spotify checks your IP address to detect your current country. Whenever you are connected to the internet your ISP hooks you up with an IP address of your country. All you need to do to is fool Spotify into thinking that you are from some other supported country and Spotify will let you stream.

How to use Spotify in any country:

For Android:

Step 1: Install any VPN from play store like Turbo Vpn.  For now, I downloaded Turbo Vpn.

Step 2: After installation launch ‘Turbo VPN’ and connect to a US server or server of any other Spotify supported country.

Click on the globe like looking icon located in the upper right corner from there select US server and tap the animated carrot to connect.

Step 3: Again launch play store and then install Spotify from there(Spotify should be first uninstalled if it was recently installed).

Step 4: Now launch Spotify and signup for their service and log in to the app and enjoy some good music. Now you can disconnect VPN. It is not necessary to use VPN after the account is logged in.

For some reason, if Spotify again shows the message ‘not supported country’ then follow the above steps all over again.

For Windows:

It is pretty much same for windows version too.

Step 1: Install any VPN software on your PC like tunnel bear VPN.

Step 2: Connect to a supported country server like UK or US via tunnel bear VPN.

Step 3: Install the Spotify app on your PC then signup for Spotify and login to the app and enjoy good music. You can disconnect your VPN connection now. It should now work without a VPN connection fine.

If Spotify shows your country not supported message again then repeat the above steps again.

For Linux:

Step 1: install openvpn in your system if not installed earlier(according to your package manager).

sudo apt-get install openvpn

or

sudo rpm install openvpn

Step 2: Go to https://vpnbook.com scroll down and click on ‘OpenVpn’ tab and download any openvpn security bundle of a supported country. For now, I’m selecting US1 server bundle. Click on the server name to download it.

Also, note the username and password you see at the end of the table.

Step 3: Unzip the downloaded package.

cd ~/Downloads && unzip VPNBook.com-OpenVPN-US1.zip

Step 4: initiate VPN connection(enter the username and password you noted earlier when prompted)

sudo openvpn –config vpnbook-us1-udp53.ovpn

If everything goes right you will get the ‘Initialization Sequence Completed’ message after a couple of seconds.

Step 5: Go to https://www.spotify.com/us/signup/ and signup for a Spotify account.

Step 6: Install Spotify in your system, here is how: https://www.spotify.com/us/download/linux/

Step 7: Launch Spotify and Login to the app. You can now disconnect VPN. It is not necessary to use VPN after the account is logged in.

For some reason, if Spotify again shows the message ‘not supported country’ then follow the above steps all over again.

I hope this article was helpful to you. This is it for now. Have a good day.
